Shantou Sunset has taken time to find her feet since joining us at the beginning of the season, but back down to a workable mark and returning to the scene of her final success for her previous connections, she returned to form with a comfortable success at Stratford under Charlie Price.

She was travelling notably well down the back straight, but the favourite and eventual runner-up provided a strong challenge and Charlie needed to keep her up to her work on the run to the line.

The handicapper is unlikely to overreact to the win and she should have more chances to add to that victory in the coming weeks, with a return to Stratford for a mares’ handicap hurdle on Sunday 21st May the likely target.  Many congratulations to her owners Optimum Racing & Andrew Bell.
