We were delighted to see Weaver’s Answer get off the mark in great style at Uttoxeter yesterday under Alan Johns, in doing so shedding his maiden tag at the ninth time of asking.

The five-year-old son of Dunaden is out of Oskar’s Eva, who won at the same course for us and owners Sally and Dick Prince back in 2016 and is herself a half-sister to our stable star Eva’s Oskar, so it was great to see her first foal getting off the mark.

We’ll see what the handicapper does before making any plans, but he is a progressive type and should be capable of winning further races this term over hurdles, before then going chasing in due course.  Congratulations to his owners Sally and Dick!
